Adventures with Lucy: Watchung Reservation

One of Lucy's favorite things to do is to explore. This past week we engaged in some serious exploring at the Watchung Reservation, which is about twenty minutes from the house:

It was a pretty hot day, but luckily most of the trails are in the shade. Lucy took the opportunity to explore some of the animal holes that passed (luckily, she didn't meet any new 'friends' this way):

And I was happy to see some lady slippers and mayapples:

But while I am a plant person, Lucy is an animal-dog and got her fix with the bunnies, squirrels, and chipmunks that we saw:

All in all, it was a great day that left us both wanting more and completely exhausted:

We will certainly be back, but we are also looking forward to exploring other fun places around our new home.
