Painting Perfect

There is a technique to painting. This was first taught to me by Jenna and then revised using information from the internet. Now that most of the house is painted, I wanted to share my technique for making sure that no spots are missed. First you have a wall that needs paint:
Next start with a large "V" or "W" pattern:
The key to good coverage is painting in every direction. That last step covered the diagonals. Next, fill in the "W" by painting across:
Now the key to professional looking painting is to always finish in the same direction. With this method, it is up and down:
Then you just repeat for the next section of the wall. Remembering to (1) paint in all directions and (2) finish going up and down. This uses more paint than just painting up and down on the first coat, but I find that the coverage is more than worth it and I actually use much less paint on the second coat. Feel free to share any improvements on this technique in the comments because there is plenty more to be painted in this house and tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
