To Paint or to Pull, That is the Question

Now we have fully realized how much work it is to pull down wood paneling since the guest bedroom hasn't turned out to be the quick and easy project we explected. Here is what it looked like before:
And here is what it looks like now:
Yup, that guest bedroom is still unfinished. There is still glue on the walls and spackling that needs to be done. Even after it is painted, we still need to replace the molding. Soon enough, I swear. But this got us thinking about if we really wanted to pull down the wood paneling in the Family Room:
So we decided to do a little test patch to see if we could live with it painted:
This is the same color that was used on the accent wall in the Living Room. here is a close up:
This is just one coat, so it should look better after two. Chris and I decided that we are going to paint this room. We can always tear down the paneling later, but after biting off more than we can chew in the guest bedroom, it might be time to get this room livable on a decent time table. That being said, we both agreed that this blue was not the right color. The search for paint continues!

  1. Painting is totally the right choice. lol That seems like a lot of work in the guest bedroom (which I would like to propose being named Jenna's bedroom to encourage more visits. lol) But I think the paneling looks good painted...I'm interested to see your color choice. What are you looking at? lighter, darker, neutral, colorful?

Sidenote, I wanted to come visit in August because I think all my weekends are free, but if you continue coming home maybe I'll look into visiting another time. lol Also, we need to discuss a possible camping trip/vacation before you start school. Still considering looking at a long weekend in Darien Lake or somewhere with the timeshare.
